In Tuesday’s coaching session we discussed the importance of practicing pageant interview the right way. Remember, quality matters just as much as quantity!
The truth is, interview isn’t just about answering questions. It’s about answering the right questions, in the right way, until it feels natural. Most contestants either don’t practice enough, or they recycle the same generic questions and wonder why their answers never get better.
In this week’s deep dive, I’m using a screenshare to show you exactly how I get my coaching clients to use ChatGPT in real time.
I demonstrate how the quality of your prompt matters. When I type in something vague like “give me pageant interview questions,” the output is fine, but it’s generic. Then I feed it actual paperwork, and you see the questions instantly shift. Suddenly they are specific, targeted, and designed to stretch you.
The next thing I show is voice mode. This is a game changer. Instead of sitting at your desk and typing, you can literally practice on the go. I speak into the app, it asks me a tailored interview question, I answer out loud, and then it gives me feedback on the spot. That means you can rehearse in your car, on a run, even while doing housework. Consistency becomes effortless.
I also ask ChatGPT to pull recent news stories. For someone competing with an advocacy like microplastics, this is gold. It takes a broad topic, searches the latest headlines, and summarizes what you need to know. That’s the kind of detail judges remember when you bring it to an answer.
And just to show the range, I finish by pushing it in a different direction: image generation. I ask it to sketch a state costume concept for Georgia. The first try is clunky, but after I refine the prompt, the design becomes more realistic. It’s the same principle: the clearer you are, the better the result.
Three takeaways stand out from the session:
Smarter prompts create sharper questions.
Voice mode turns any spare moment into practice time.
AI is a tool that magnifies your prep, not a shortcut to avoid it.
You see all of this unfold live on screen. Below are some of the key moments from the session.
