Clarity is Power
If you’ve ever wondered why your social media feels stuck, you’re not alone. Most contestants post constantly, try every trend, and still see no real growth. That’s not an algorithm problem. It’s a clarity problem.
In this week’s VIP video, I take you through Bianca’s Instagram step by step. You’ll see what works, what confuses followers, and how small changes to her “above the fold” section could completely change how her page performs.
Bianca’s profile shows exactly what many of you are struggling with: a mix of good content and good intentions, but no clear direction.
Start With Your Goal
Before you worry about hashtags, filters, or reels, ask yourself one question: What is the goal of my social media?
If your answer is “to grow my following” or “to get famous,” there isn’t much strategy to discuss. Just chase trends and hope they work.
But if your goal is to build something meaningful, like your advocacy, your sponsorship opportunities, or your personal brand, your entire approach has to change.
In the video, I show how this shift instantly affects your bio, your top posts, and your content flow. Once you know your goal, everything else falls into place because you’re aligned.
Focus on What’s Above the Fold
“Above the fold” means what people see before they scroll. On Instagram, that includes your profile photo, bio, links, highlights, and pinned posts.
That’s your chance to make a first impression, and most people will never scroll past it.
Ask yourself: if a stranger landed on your page right now, would they know who you are and what you do within five seconds?
In the video, I share visuals of Bianca’s profile and point out exactly where attention drops and how to fix it. You’ll see why pinned posts and a clean bio matter more than most people realize.
The Funnel That Makes It All Make Sense
Social media works like a funnel.
At the top are strangers who see your post once.
In the middle are people who engage or follow.
At the bottom are followers who take action.
If you don’t know what “action” you want people to take, you’re just posting into the void.
Maybe the action is to visit your website, sign up for your email list, or support your platform. Whatever it is, your page needs to form a logical path that leads there.
In the video, I break down this funnel visually so you can see how engagement actually converts into followers, sponsors, or sales.
Bianca’s Example
Bianca’s page has great energy. She’s young, accomplished, and clearly enjoys pageantry. But when you look at her profile through a new visitor’s eyes, it’s hard to tell what the main purpose is.
Her bio lists several interests. Her pinned posts mix photography, collaborations, and pageant content. Each piece looks good on its own, but together they feel scattered.
If her goal is to build sponsorships, that needs to be obvious. One pinned post could show her title, another her community involvement, and another her work with local businesses. That would instantly tell followers and sponsors who she is and what she offers.
I walk through these examples on screen so you can see exactly what I mean, along with simple adjustments anyone can make in minutes.
My Own Audit
I’ve made the same mistakes. I have more than three thousand posts on Instagram, and most of them didn’t do much.
When I got intentional, I reworked my entire profile: a bio that fits in three lines and points directly to my main link, only one link at the top (thepageantproject.com), and pinned posts that show exactly what I do: the book, the coaching, and the mock interviews.
That small shift made a big difference. One pinned post about mock interviews brought in ten new Miss USA contestants alone.
The change wasn’t more content. It was better alignment.
The Real Fix
- Define your goal. Be clear about what you want social media to do for you.
- Audit your “above the fold.” Make sure it instantly communicates that goal.
- Simplify your funnel. Decide what action you want people to take.
- Pin posts that reinforce your purpose.
- Stop chasing numbers. Start building alignment.
If you want to see this process in action and follow along with real visuals, the full walkthrough is inside this week’s VIP video.
Remember: you don’t need to post more. You need to post on purpose.
That’s what Bianca’s audit showed, and it’s probably what your page needs too.
