Way back when I interviewed Miss Georgia Teen USA 2018 Savannah Miles for the first time, I remember being hugely impressed with her interview skills, especially for someone who was just seventeen at the time.
When I asked her for interview tips, she mentioned one thing - control the interview.
Fast forward four years and nearly two hundred interviews later, I think I finally grasp what she meant after my interview with Miss Earth USA 2021 Marisa Ford (Butler), one of my favourite queens to interview and also one of the best pageant interviews out there.
I get approached for interview training ALL the time, and in this episode, I discuss the hugely important concept of being able to control the interview and how to get your point across no matter how poorly worded or random the interview questions thrown at you might be.
If you’re ready to go deeper, consider becoming a paid subscriber. You’ll get access to mini-courses on everything from interviews to sponsorship, priority answers to your questions, and the chance to ask me anything directly in the comments.
