Greetings from Miami Florida. Yes I made it. Yes it’s hot. Yes I’m still jetlagged.
I’ve been here a few days now, and one of the things that has really struck me is how intense and emotionally draining pageant week can be.
As I’m staying at the same host hotel as the girls (thanks Intercontinental Miami), I bump into someone who recognizes me almost every time I leave my room. And, even if they don’t recognize me, if I see them wearing a sash, I’m wondering whether I should introduce myself despite my jetlagged brain.
But do you need to have an unlimited social battery to win a pageant such as Miss USA?
I don’t think so.
I think it could definitely help in some situations, especially the pressure-cooker public situations, but I think there are a lot of benefits to being introverted as well.
