Ever Thought About Publishing a Book?

An inside look into what's possible in the world of self-publishing

Welcome to this week’s Q&A. Each week, I answer questions from our paid subscribers. Join to watch the full episode, get your questions featured, and access tailored help from me—all for a fraction of the cost of private coaching.

I received an email this week from a subscriber who had some questions about book publishing. It was rather ironic timing given that I’m in the middle of launching early access to The Beginner’s Guide to Pageantry, but it reminded me that many of you might be interested in publishing your own book.

In this week’s Q&A, I want to do three things:

  1. Show you what’s possible when publishing a book (it’s a lot more than you think).

  2. Gift you my free course, Your COMPLETE Guide to Amazon KDP Publishing, which has had almost 9,000 students.

  3. Invite you to join the early access launch of The Beginner’s Guide to Pageantry at secretpageantbook.com.

My experience has specifically been with self-publishing on the Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) platform:

  • From Fear to Freedom (2017): #1 on Amazon

  • Confessions of a Pageant Queen A–K (2020): Top 10 on Amazon

  • Confessions of a Pageant Queen L–Z (2020): Top 10 on Amazon

There are definitely advantages to getting a traditional publishing deal, but in this video I also outline why self-publishing was my preferred route—and why I suggest first-time authors consider it first.
